On May 1, 2010, Floyd Mayweather defeated Sugar Shane Mosley. That was what most predicted, so it was no big surprise. The surprise was in the way that defeat happened. Money was stunned in the second round, and he was nearly out. However, he turned the fight around, and dominated for the next 10 rounds. He was the aggressor. Something that is rare in a Mayweather fight.
If you did not see the fight, please have a look of your own. It is worth seeing Floyd as an aggressor. It appears that no one in the welter-weight division can solve the Mayweather puzzle. To his credit, Shane did wobble Floyd, but that was not enough to win. Both physically and mentally, the prize fighter from Michigan is indeed a spectacular boxer.

10KM Run On Short Notice
Today I took part in a 10 km run. It is nothing special except that I have not done it in a while. The weeks before the event, I was looking for information about the race. None was found. So, I thought they have no 10, 5 km run or walk planned. Last night, I came across the schedule for the entire weekend. The Dogwood Festival was in full effect. The run was on. I decided to do it - without preparation. It might as well have been a marathon.

Lesson learned:
It is always a great idea to prepare
Know the route very well
Practice on the route as much as possible
Practice during the time of the day when the event will take place
Hydrate yourself. Drink plenty of water before and after the race
For extra boost, train with a team of dedicated runners
Enlist your friends, spouse, family’s support for training and the competition
Once you start, keep on going (run, jog, walk) never stop.
Needless to say, my feet felt like rubber towards the end of the event, but I completed it. It was fun… not considering the pain of running uphill at various points.
Someone once mentioned that children are great models for running. They run happily. No competition, no pressure, no cool looking gear in their minds. Taking those points to heart, I took time to admire the blooming flowers and the beautiful houses along the route. The neighborhood was very close to town, yet secluded.
On my way back, there was a family cheering us on, so I picked a twig with branches and handed it to one of the little kids. It was as if some Olympian giving a bystander his wreath. It made her day - it kept me going.
There was some guy who kept stopping and starting. I encouraged him to keep it up. At that time he was walking. A few minutes later he caught up with me, and finished long before I did. There was a method to his madness.
At the finish line, I did a 360 degree jump and fell. It was fun. I did not care who was watching. It is over. Deep down inside, my faith was bolstered. I know that I can accomplish anything, even a marathon, if I decide to go for it.

Weight Loss Basics: Self Examination
One of the most ignored fundamentals about weight loss is finding out why an individual wants to loose weight. As in any worthwhile endeavor in life, the reason will always serve as a spring-board for success. Remember the last time you accomplished something that you were proud of. What got you through to the end? Chances are: you had a motivating reason. There was a passion burning deep inside you. Weight loss is no different. Either a disgust for the extra weight or the desire to have men or women admiring your wonderful body, can be motivators for your weight loss plan. Going to the gymnasium, staying on a diet, and such are all good. However, the main work is thinking, (or should I say “feeling”?) For weight loss to be effective, one must first sit down and do a thorough soul search. It is preferable that this is done at your own convenience. A good coaching or health professional may help. The idea is to discover what drives you in this quest for weight loss. Here are some good questions to get you started:
For each question list everything that comes to mind. Do not screen those first ideas. If the first thought in your mind to the 2nd question (What do I gain from being over-weight) is bad sex, then write it down, exactly as you think it. Then write anything else that comes to your mind. During the moment of the exercise, your mind is giving you the answers that you need. If you allow those answers to come to the front, without judgment, you will be amazed that the answers will come. Notice how you feel about each answer. The answer(s) to which you have an emotional reaction is probably your most important action point. Let us call is key answer Circle it. This is your primary focus for weight loss. Some key answers may have nothing to do with weight loss - at least not on the surface. A woman wanted to loose weight. Upon doing the basic exploration into this issue, she mentioned that he lost her twin brother 10 years ago. She was away at a university. She only knew that he had been sick. Upon getting home, he was already buried. According to her, no one allowed her to mourn, she was told to focus on her exams. None of the weight loss programs worked, because none discovered the main reason behind the condition. After some time mourning her brother, she was able to successfully reduce her weight.
